Making a site accessible for billions of people
My goal when I came to the company was to make the company as accessible and profitable in Latin America possible. After analyzing the projects that would have the highest impact with the least amount of effort, I came to the conclusion that translating all of our properties to Spanish and Portuguese was a priority.
We decided to leverage the power of our community to accomplish this goal so we created a crowdsourcing translation platform. The move was a success, we had thousands of users using our solution and were able to translate not only the website but all of the messaging in our apps and other communication channels. In a short period of time we were able to translate our content not only in two languages but more than 30. The platform helped convert millions of new potential users and best of all making the experience better for existing and future users.
